Sus clients getting event id 16

I sucessfully setup our Sus server, pointed clients to it for updates,
worked great! The problem came when my boss decided he wanted a
different name for it and a bunch of other stuff on this same server. I
ended up reloading it, Windows 2000 Server, sp4, and giving it a
different name. I made the changes on the client to reflect the new
server name using gpedit.msc. I also checked the registry settings:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Win dows\WindowsUpdate
and that keeps giving the old server name, no matter what. I've deleted
the registry entries, disabled the local policies. Re-did this same
process over and over but it keeps somehow getting the old server name
and throwing up those errors when the update schedule runs on all my
clients. We're on an NT 4 Domain network, if that helps.
