I know there is a way to get alerted when new updates have been made
available, but each of the different locations I've discovered fail to work
(outdated) when I attempt to register for SUS update alerts. Does anyone
know the correct/working link to register for SUS alerts?

Thanks,

Jon

How can I be notified when new updates become available?

A. The SUS e-mail notification service keeps you informed of the
latest critical updates as soon as they are available. These optional e-mail
alerts are for informational purposes only and are not required to run SUS.

The above link should get you what you are looking for.

Hi

I think you forgot to put in the link:

Microsoft Software Update Services: Frequently Asked Questions
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserv...us/susfaq.mspx

And for the original poster:

Fyi, there is a separate newsgroup for SUS:

microsoft.public.softwareupdatesvcs

news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...wareupdatesvcs

URL to the group softwareupdatesvcs for those who uses the Web
interface to access the newsgroups:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserv...wareupdatesvcs

A Web site about SUS with a FAQ and a SUS forum:
http://www.susserver.com/

More SUS Web sites:
http://www.cites.uiuc.edu/sus/faq.html
http://www.faqshop.com/sus/default.htm

Yes, Thankyou for these two responses. I have tried this link as well as
another one that does the same thing. When I click these links, it asks me
to login to my .NET account. After I do that, it takes me to a page that
says, "We’re sorry, but there is no Microsoft.com Web page matching your
entry. It is possible that you typed the address incorrectly, or that the
page no longer exists. You may wish to try another entry or to use the links
below, which we hope will help provide you with the information you need."

As a result, I am still not able to subscribe to these alerts. Either I'm
doing something wrong, or the page is broken.

Any ideas? Thanks for your continued help.

Do you have a .NET password account?
If not, sign up for a free account.

Jeff,

Thank you for your response. Yes, I do have a .NET passport account and I
logged into it but I still got that error page. It seems to indicate the
Alert page doesn't work anymore. Are there any other links out there that
work?

Thanks again for your guidance,

Jon

Good clues. Yes. The new portal they are providing from the
Support pages is causing a problem for users who try to use
the notification feature. Apparently you can use that portal without
using the notification feature or you can try a different portal and
try the notification feature from there.

Try this one for example:

Or the "all newsgroups" (sort of) portal:

BTW this should only be an issue if you want to post using this
interface. If you just want to browse there is no need to log in.
