SUS restart option in GPO

Hello,

I have SUS running on my network and I have setup the GPO to download and
install the updates at 10AM every day. When I configured the policy I
thought I had it setup to NOT restart automatically but to give the logged in
user the choice to say NO to the restart. Well, today when the updates were
installed, a message box was displayed notifying the user that the updates
were successfully install and that the system needed to be restarted. It
then asked if they wanted to restart the system now and gave them only one
active choice...YES? Is there any way to have it so that they can choose NO
and restart the system later?

FYI, I am running SUS version 1 with SP1 on a Windows 2000/SBS 2000 Server.

Thanks for any information.

Hi

As far as I know, only users with administrative privileges on
the local computer gets the No option, and no workaround exists
for this.

Fyi, there is a separate newsgroup for SUS:

microsoft.public.softwareupdatesvcs

news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof...wareupdatesvcs

URL to the group softwareupdatesvcs for those who uses the Web
interface to access the newsgroups:

Thanks for the info. Sorry, I didn't see a thread in the list of newsgroups
for SUS but I will use the one you mentioned from now on. Thanks.
