Hi,

i recently reinstalled windows home xp back on to my sony viao.
xp was running perfect before reinstall, i did it merely to format my drive.

about a minute after i boot, my system kicks svchost.exe kicks to 100%
it drains all performance and cannot excute any other program.

i attempted to reinstall using XP pro, and another home disk. BOTH
formated (not quick), still no avail. i also refered to a discusson
http://www.microsoft.com/communities...9f780a4336&p=1

i followed these steps, and still no avail. it kicks back in when i
try to update windows.

thanks!

Hi,

What Antivirus and Firewall Software do you use?
Do you scan the PC with a Antivirus Software?
It can be a virus. So disconnect your pc from the internet and
reinstall windows XP again. Then check without a internet connection
the svchost.exe percent level for a while.
