svchost.exe running 100% of my CPU

running vista home basic... svchost.exe is eating all of my cpu capacity and
im completly incapable of runing anything without it being 80% slower than
normal. help please.

Hi,

Svchost.exe loads a fair number of modules, you need to isolate it more so
that you can find the actual culprit. Run Process Explorer to capture the
errant thread:
