how to switch between languages

I just purchased a new computer with Windows Vista Home Premium.
I clicked on Regeional Language setting and added Japanese language. I see
the Japanese language bar at the bottom of monitor, but I can't type
Japanese for some reason. It only types English. I select that i wish to
input Japanese language, using US keyboard, but nothing. Please, no links to
the help topics.....which are anything but helpful. Thank you very much!

I suspect you'll need to download Japanese fonts from www.microsoft.com
