I just bought a new laptop w. Vista and I am unable to properly install a
software program (ACT!) I need for work. It installs fine on my desktop
which has XP. Softward support for the product says the problem is Vista. I
have an XP install disk. Can I uninstall Vista ( and if so how) and install
XP on my laptop?

Hi Lisa before you install XP on your new laptop be sure that all the driver
are XP compatible!!
We found out in our company that the new Desktops/Laptops that have Vista
installed are not always 100% compatible with XP, review your Laptop Website
and see if they have all the drivers listed.

Do you have a full (purchased) version of XP? It sounds to me like you have
an OEM version purchased with another computer. If so, you probably will
not be able to install it on your new laptop.

Unfortunately, it was installed. I have no disc copy.

Yes, it would seem I'm stuck with the wonderful world of Vista. Oh me!

Which version of Act! are you using. I checked their website and older
versions of ACT! don't work on Vista.

Maybe try upgrading to the latest ACT! version before reinstalling your OS.
