Hello all. We have had Blackberry's for a couple of years now and we just
purchased some new windows mobile phones to test and are trying to set up the
sync. In Outlook, we have the main "Contacts" group and have sub folder
contact (for example "Business Contacts", "Personal Contacts" etc..) groups
that we would like to also sync to the pocket pc in addition to the root
"Contacts" folder.

From what I have read, ActiveSync only syncs the main Contact group. This
is what I am experiencing also. It looks like there are 3rd party programs
(purchased for tons of money) that might allow me to do this.

From what I can tell, Chapura Pocket Mirror is a good choice but it is not
available for Windows Mobil 5.0 yet. Does anyone have any suggestions of how
to do this right now without spending a lot of money to do so? Or any for
that matter? (I can't believe it is not possible with ActiveSync....This is
where Blackberry's are better).

Please anyone....help if you can. I really don't want to merge all my
contacts into one folder in Outlook as this will be a pain in the .... to
manage and use in outlook when sending out emails...HELP!!!

Our environment is as follows:
Exchange 2003 w/Sp1.
Outlook 2003 desktop clients.
Verizon VX6700 and Treo 700w phones with Windows Mobile 5.0 O.S.
Tried ActiveSync 4.0 and 4.1.

Hi David,

Have you checked out Outlook Pocket Contact Synchronizer add-in?
http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/raj/OutlookPCS.html

Although this will merge the contacts into your default folder, you can
always delete it at the click of a button. The only draw back is that if
you edit the contacts on your mobile device, it will only sync to the
default folder.
