I have use active syn for a year or so. Suddenly, it has changed. When I plug
my cell phone in, the synching process begins, but the only thing that
happens is the green arrows go round and round and round. Nothing happens
after hours of doing it. No data is exchanged

Hi,

* Have you tried performing a soft reset and then attempt a sync?
* Which version of ActiveSync are you using?
* Was there any recent changes on your PC like installation of a new
software/driver?

I have rebooted several times and it has not helped.

No new software. Using version 4.50. It just started to happen. And in two
weeks I get a new phone and I wanted to be up to date on data so I could do a
smooth transition.

Hi,

See if running scanpst helps fix the issue. Disconnect the device and then
run it on the PC.

Refer - http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ou...758311033.aspx

Also depending on the version of Outlook you have, try running Detect and
Repair... or Diagonistics available under Help menu of Outlook.

I appreciate your responses. First, I ran Detect and Repair with no positive
effect.

I went to the file for scanpst.exe and it is not there. I will go to MS site
and look for the file, however, I am not sure what to scan for once I have
it. I am not having a problem opening Outlook or running it. Can I do a *.pst
scan?

I am having problems downloading scanpst.exe. If I go to the MS site, the
first listing is for 'regedit'. If I go further, I get a message that it is
on my hard drive. Sort of a circular argument. I don't have it, go to MS, and
it says if I have MS Outlook, i must have it

I am using a Verizon VX6800 phone. I have gone to start, but cannot find a
'settings' section. Should I remove Active Synch and start all over.

Thanks Todd. I never thought you meant the phone start button. I did as you
suggested and it is now in the process of synchronizing files.

thanks again

I am getting a Blackbery Tour; I have absolutely hated the xv 6800 for the
last 18 months
