Tom,
I have recommended on several occasions to use mNotes and everyone has
reported back to me success with it. However I've never personally used it
so I can't speak from first hand experience.
Keep in mind that if you sync with your work and home PCs you will have all
of the contacts/calendar from both PCs on each other as well as your device
(if you leave the sync settings at default).
