Synchronising Favorites and Bookmarks

I have issues with IE8 which do not occur with Mozilla Firefox so I am
having to use both browsers. Is it possible to use a common source for IE8
Favorites and Mozilla Firefox Bookmarks to save having to synchronise them?

The only thing I've come across is an extension for Firefox called Plain old
Favorites that allows you to use and edit IE Favorites in Firefox.
