Syncing devices

I would like to know if it is possible to SyNc music into the Iphone 3gs from
the Windows media player? And if possible how do I set this up? I connected
the device into my computer and hit the Snyc tab above. Window opened to show
option to sync device but the sync tab at the bottom is greyed out and
does'nt allow me to hit sync.
