syncing to exchange 2003

i have exchange 2003 with mobile services enabled. i am trying to
use a ipaq 2215 to connect to that exchange server via activesync
but getting the following error:

The server you are synchronizing with is not an Exchange ActiveSync
server, or is running incompatible software. Specify the correct server in
ActiveSync Options.

Error code: HTTP_404

please advise. what am i doing wrong?
