I have installed the Vista Enterprise Upgrade now several times. Each and
everytime I run Sysprep, it fails with a fatal error. I'm installing on the
same computer, a Dell Optiplex GX620. I am upgrading from Windows XP Pro. Is
anyone else having this issue ?

Hello Bob,
What is the error message?
Is this after the upgrade happens? When are you running sysprep?
Thanks,
Darrell Gorter[MSFT]

I have installed XP SP2, with no updates and install Vista Enterprise Upgrade
and activated it and then ran sysprep. Sysprep fails every time. The
following are in the panther folder.

setupact log

Last 2 lines show an error as follows:

2006-11-28 09:32:16, Info SYSPRP SPPNP: Uninstalling device
ROOT\VOLMGR\0000 failed with 0xE0000231.
2006-11-28 09:32:17, Info SYSPRP SPPNP: Uninstalling device
SW\{EEAB7790-C514-11D1-B42B-00805FC1270E}\ASYNCMAC failed with 0x5.

setuperr log file

Only 1 line, as follows:

2006-11-28 09:32:09, Error SYSPRP MSS: _DeleteValue call
failed to delete reg value SystemIndexNormalization under reg key
SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Search- error 0x2.[gle=0x00000012]

Hello Bob,
Can you send me the setupact.log file? I don't see enough information to
figure out why it's failing with the lines posted
Remove the online from the email address.
Thanks,
Darrell Gorter[MSFT]
