I installed Roxio CD Creator 5 in Vista, but found that it is not compatible.
I get the following messages: "The system administrator has set policies to
prevent this installation.
Your do not have sufficient access to uninstall Easy CD Creator 5. Please
contact you system administrator." I don't understand how to do this since I
am signed in as administrator.

Easy CD Creator 5 is not compatible with Windows Vista.
Time to upgrade to a new version.

I didn't pose my question properly. I know it is not compatible. I want to
uninstall it but can't figure out how to give myself permission to do it. I
just don't understand the Administrator thing. I am told to contact the
administrator, but I don't understand how to do it.

Right-click on the Roxio uninstall file and select
"Run as administrator".

Carey, I am feeling more and more like a total idiot. I can't find the
uninstall file, except as an option in the control panel. Nothing happens
when I right click on that, and when I left click I get the message: "You do
not have sufficient access to uninstall Easy CD Creator Platinum. Please
contact you system administrator." When I click on 'change' I can start the
uninstall process, but then it stalls out about half way through and I have
to restart the computer. I even tried it using the installation disk, and
the same thing happened. I need to get this program out so the Creator 9
program will work.

Boot into Safe Mode, then try to uninstall the program.

Hello bwatson. Try downloading the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility at
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/29031. It will show you all the programs on
your computer and may give you a better chance of uninstalling it than,
perhaps having to make changes to the registry which is what apparently some
fellow at Roxio forums was advocating for a clean install of Roxio. I don't
know, barely working my way around Windows Media Player, but hope the link
helps
