System Configuration Question

Hello,

With Windows XP, when you ran msconfig, and rebooted, you got that box with
the message about how your settings have changed, and at the bottom there
was a checkbox that said something to the extent of "Do not show this
message at startup".

With Vista, when you run msconfig and reboot, Windows Defender comes up and
gives you a message something to the extent of "Some programs have been
blocked, click here to see which programs or choose to unblock them".
(Again, I'm paraphrasing).

But now there's no easy, evident way to not make that message seen at
startup. Or is there? There must be, but I'm just not finding it?

Thanks in advance,

smackedass

You should look at the WD section in the link and tell WD to allow the
programs in question to run at start-up. You may have to create short-cuts
or go to the exe and set Run as Administrator too, because the those
programs are being block because they need their privileges escalated.

Thanks for the tweaks etc.

Maybe it's just me but I find your site really difficult to read. Why do you
use
black/blue text on a dark grey background?
The only way I can see clearly is to Edit > Select All to reverse all the
colours.
..

Windows Vista blocks startup programs that requires UAC elevation and that's
the reason you see the error message. There is a workaround though, using
Task Scheduler.

What's wrong with black text on a white background ?

Are you really happy with this layout ?

It gives me a headache looking at it. Perhaps I'm getting old.
It's your site so as long as you like it...

Maybe you should have someone you know who has a color deficiency (aka color
blindness) take a look. I never thought about it but it makes sense to have
your own website checked for things like that. Just a thought.
