EVERYTIME I TRY TO ACTIVATE THE SHARED FOLDERS FEATURE AFTER TRYING TO SYNC
(I BELIEVE AT THE END OF FIRST FILE SYNC) THE PC JUST TURNS INTO A BLUE
SCREEN AND AUTOMATICALY REBOOTS.
AT RESTARTS THERE IS A DIALOG BOX SAYNG THE SYSTEM HAD RECOVERED FROM A
CRITICAL SYSTEM ERROR.

NOW.. ANYONE HAS THIS PROBLEM ALSO??

WOULD BE GREAT TO HAVE *SOME* FEEDBACK ON THIS ..

THANKS.

I have the same problem since the first version of Windows Live Messenger.
Every time I start the Shared Folders feature I get this system error with
the fatal Blue Screen.

Error code 000000f4, param1 00000003, param2 81f1c5e8, param3 81f1c75c,
param4 80604450.

The only solution I used all this time was simply disable the shared folders
in the options of WLM.
Anyway, I just had to format my computer, and after I setup some system
settings, I realized that the shared folders do work fine, until I instal de
graphic card drivers (nVidia GF5500).
I have uninstalled the drivers, and shared folders started to work nice and
clean.

I don't know if this is the main reason why I have this system error, but
"Blue Screen" usually happen after hardware critical errors or conflits...

I'm runing WLM 8.1 in PIV 3Ghz Win XP SP2 portuguese.
I've verified this problem with or without plugins, extensions or patching
the WLM.

If anyone knows the solution for real of this problem... please let us
know... I don't want go out and buy a new graphic card without shure this is
the reason.

P.S: the error code shown in the blue screen is something about the hard
disk... that is why I don't know what to do.

well.. i'm also running the portuguese version of live messenger ..
there is a joke i can think about our conversation but i'll keep this in
english for other users to follow whatever may come out of this..
lolol

it works fine as far as i disable the shared folders feature.
and i think it has got something to do with those *wonderfull* microsoft
updates every 1st tuesday of the month. i remember that for two times now
everything worked fine until i got some update regarding the messenger and
then the problem appeared.
(my problem right now is to remember witch update was it..)

let's see if some of the genious around here can find some info on this...

thanks
um abraço
