My computer always restarts automatically shortly after I run windows live
messenger. I've re-installed it and it still does the same thing. Is there
anything I can do to get it to work properly.

others are suggesting a power on/power off of your router, but it didn't work
on mine. maybe it would on yours

Could it be a virus?
I installed it a half year ago and my virus scan alerted a trojan.

i have already written this a hundred times .. and what i am starting to
wonder even more than the problem itself is why i get absolutely no answer
... whatsoever..

if the pc suddenly reboots after loading live messenger .. and by rebooting
i mean .. watching for a few milliseconds that ugly old blue screen .. very
known to those who had to live with windows 2000 .. and then rebooting on
itself, the problem is:

tcham tcham ..

the shared folder utility in live messenger.(!)

try going to options (have to do it as soon as you login or .. BSOD .. ) and
disable the shared folders utility.. OK .. and it works nice.

oh .. and welcome to the club of those who every now and then turn it on
back again just for the trhill of watching that good old BSOD. lol
