It isn't always a problem, but sometimes it is. I know that's a really
general answer but unfortunately whether an older game or program will
run on Vista depends on that game or program. I've got clients with
quite elderly software happily running and other clients with programs
that won't run at all, usually because the program is looking for a
library that doesn't exist in Vista or wants to write to a protected
area of the hard drive. Sometimes there's a workaround and sometimes
there just isn't.
I Googled "SYSTEM ERROR MCI ERROR" and interestingly one of the links
was from a language program called Eurotalk. The information was about
XP, but the gist of it was to try an update and if that didn't work, to
contact them. I would contact the makers of your Spanish learning CD and
see what they say.
