hi
this is my first computer, have learned a bit
from day 1, I had dumpfiles in my machine
because I did not start it up right and
I had done System Recovery by the place I purchesed it
the dump files are still in here, after 10 month I finaly found them
this is a:
Factory Installed
Refurbished Emachine Model 3609
RC 101 142 20R 707 16
Vista Home basic 32 bit
512 RAM CPU 3.33 GHz
Service Pack 1
I found the dump files in a popup called
Startup and Recovery
has the following
System failure
check box Write an evnt to the System log , and the check box is
checked
check box Automaticlly restart, check box checked
Write debugging information
option box, in it is Kernel memory dump
3 aditional options (none)
Small memory Dump (64 KB )
Complete memory dump

Dump file
% System Root % \memory.DMP
check box Overwrite any existing File, and check box checked

I have come to belive these are files not good for anything just filling
space ,and can be removed permanently, is that correct?

hope its clear enough have read a lot here and Help and Support
to try and remove this dump this is probly the place to start
but I have no clue how, learned enough to now fast clicker fast trouble
and I dont like to bring in my machine again
have learned many things on this site
thank you
Fritz

Hi Fritz,

The dump files can be useful in diagnosing errors otherwise, yes, they can
be deleted. You will need to be running explorer or cmd prompt with elevated
privileges in order to do so.
