System hang whilst on the internet after xp2 update

After putting Xp2 onto my laptop, i have found that when i'm on the internet
the computer just hangs, the cursor wont move and ctrl/alt&del wont even
work. it can take anywhere from seconds to minutes for it come back. if it
has been a while the computer has to logon to the internet again and acts as
if nothing has happened.

Also, sometimes the system hangs and only continues to download data if i
move the cursor ????

i have caARMOUR (eTrust) as a anti-virus and firewall and disable XP
firewall as this seems to make it happen more often if enabled.

I use broadband so there is always a line connected.

My system is :

Windows XP2 Intel Pen 4 3.2Ghz 512mb memory
60Gb split between 3 drives
128mb shared ATI 9100 IGP graphics card

Can anyone please help....?

try disabling Automatic Updates.

You might wanna try another modem..
