System indicates SP2, but no security center displayed

Hi. Just installed SP2. Somehow it hung after most of the installation
was done, so i rebooted my PC. It reported SP2 installation was not
completed, so i should remove it through the control panel. I tried,
but was warned by the SP2-removal wizard a rather big list of apps
might not run after it de-installed. So i thought: lets do another
reboot and maybe ... After the reboot everything seemed o.k. No error
messages anymore. Properties of My Computer show SP2 installed. But in
Control Panel i do not have the Security Center?!?! Any advice? Can i
somehow check what part of SP2 got installed? Visiting WindowsUpdate
shows no SP2 anymore, so the system thinks it has been SP2-ed. But i
can't control any settings?!

I hope someone knows the answer. In the meanwhile, free XP SP2 support is
available here:
