When I go Accessories > System Tools > System Information instead of getting
that information I am getting the following:

Can't Collect Information
Cannot access the Windows Instrumentation software. Windows Management files
may be moved or missing.

Any idea as to why I'm getting this and how to fix.

Thanking you in advance for any help provided.

I'm having the same problem as of sun evening, with a new vista install. no
rating, cpu or ram info showing up in properties, and nothing in sys info.
just sat can't collect information.

some google searches mentioned Stopping the Management Instrumentation
service in Services, then deleting files in system32/Wbem/Repository. then
restarting the computer.

this did not work, not for me anyway.

Exactly same issue here, directly connected to turning UAC off.
Nothing on the net that I've found resolves this issue, and no one seems to
have the answer.
