Hi im posting here because iolo is not helping at all, I warn people not to
buy there products. They claim system mechanic 7 is vista compatible, but im
having a problem with install. The program starts install checks and
downloads updates but then when it returns to setup to continus the process
nothing happens. The computer stops no error message comes up but if i goto
applications in task manager program has stopped responding. I have turned of
all applications and security software during install and same still happens
even tried installing as a xp service pack 2 mode, still get same problem.
Googled problem and many people have this issue but no fix can someone please

Then why are you trying to install this? Not heeding your own warnings?

Have you tried running the installer "as administrator"?
Don't know if that will work, and I don't plan to find out because I don't
plan to buy or use this product.

Sorry. You're right, of course.

However, in contradiction to normal netiquette, you quoted nothing of
the message to which you were replying, leading me to erroneously
think that your signature (also in contradiction in normal netiquette,
since it greatly exceeds the normal 4-line maximum) was quoted from
the original poster's message.

I didn't know there was a 4 line max signature limit..mmmm ..as to the
original poster..i have no clue why you're having this problem, as you have
2GB of RAM,and an overall decent system.
If I can figure this out for you, I'll let you know as soon as I can

OK, not a big deal. As I said, I was wrong; I was just explaining what
misled me.

"Limit" is too strong a word. There's no rule that says you can't have
more. But most people find long signatures annoying and unnecessary,
and there's general agreement that four lines shouldn't be exceeded.
But it's just netiquette, rather than a rule.

I don't use this particular software, but after searching a few minutes I
know why. You are running the 64 bit version. Check here...
