System Performance

My system perfance is bad. Whenever I am working on my computer, whether it
be on line or just working in Word. My programs and file will start popping
up on there own, and some time the system will freeze.
The icons and programs will pop up on their on all over the place, the
system will be relined.
What is the problem with my system?
