Hi, I have used system restore and because I removed programs before I did
this the programs still show as being installed. How do I remove them
from my program uninstall?
I know I have asked this question but can't find it! I am
also experiencing connection problems and can't open newsgroups without
rebooting and
then opening again. I have contacted my ISP and also cleaned cache, history
etc. in IE7 but I
know that is in a different newsgroup so will ask there. Thanks

Hi Maeve,

This tutorial will show you how to remove a Uninstall entry from
Programs and Features. Since you used System Restore, you might double
check the program files to see if it put anything back from that
program.

I am not sure about the connection problem.

Shawn

Good tutorial from Brink. Often Add/Remove does a sloppy job unfortunately
in Vista or any Windows OS, the more files and registry subkeys and hives,
the more sloppy.

Win Installer Cleanup Utility helps with this because it will go after
corrupt registry strings or .dlls that may be in the way of a complete
uninstall or subsequent reinstall of a program. Unless the program is small
and simple, and that's not always easy to tell or related to size, I always
use the WICU first becaue it takes almost no time and can be very
beneficial.
