Just for information
XP Home, I do not have SP2 yet and AutoUpdate is off. Today I took a
System Restore point, clicked on WU from Internet Explorer and it took
me to V5 site, installed V5 software then scanned my computer - all
AOK.
Then I did a System restore to just before the V5 update (to fix a USB
problem).
Then I connected to WU again and it again asked if OK to install V5
software. It then said it was downloading and installing V5 and it
hung with no internet activity. Tried again, same problem. Reversed
the system restore - V5 all back to normal.
My point is that it seems that System Restore did not seem to clear
all the V5 stuff.
