System restore doesn't work after WGA update

After I downloaded the WGA update and used the patch discussed in this
newsgroup to get things back to normal, it seems that System Restore does not
work anymore. I wanted to try to restore my system back to a date before the
WGA update. System restore starts the normal way, restarts the computer but
finally reports that the restore could not be done. I have tried several
restore points b.t.w. I am pretty sure that the WGA update has to do with it,
because I performed a successful restore the day before the update (June
9th). Could it be that MS wants to prevent the WGA update to be removed in
any possible way, as it cannot be removed the normal way ?
