Ok I ran my weekly Norton Anti Virus check & my PC restarts. I get an Error
Report Pop Up & I send an error report & MS tells me they cant determine the
exact problem but say a device driver is probably at fault. I can't remember
adding any drivers so I go for the System Restore Option.
I click on System Restore & get 'Page not responding' & ANOTHER Error Report
Pop Up!!.
I can't win!!!. I'm stuck in a loop now because I can't run my weekly Anti
Virus Scan without my System restarting & I can't restore to a previous time.
Anyone got any ideas on fixing this?
I'd be so gratefull if u could, thanks.

A few clues would help - which Operating System are you running (ME or XP),
and have you updated it since installation/purchase??

You may already have a virus/spyware hijack

download the Stinger from here and run it to make sure that A-V-disabling
viruses are not present on your PC
http://vil.mcafeesecurity.com/vil/averttools.asp

- update your virus scanner and run a full system scan of all files.

Reboot to Safe Mode and run CWShredder - to remove variants of the
CoolWebSearch hijacker.

Use CWShredder, the removal tool:
http://www.intermute.com/products/cwshredder.html
(download it without the accompanying rubbish)

download AdAware SE Personal Edition from www.lavasoftusa.com, install,
update, and run it to remove spyware, adware, and other such nasties from
your system.
