system restore points missing

Recently, my computer became very slow. I thought it was due to several
updates that came in from McAfee. When I went to do a system restore, I
found that all my automatic restore points were gone. What might cause this?
A disk defrag and cleanup dealt with the slow computer, but I am concerned
that I can loose restore points....

You can reinstall System Restore.....

Click Start, Run, In the Run box, type "C:\windows\inf" without the quotes and press enter.
Look for SR.INF and RightClick on it, then LeftClick it, select "Install"

Follow the prompts, Reboot
