Since 25 Nov 07 the following have "Stopped responding and was closed" on
VistaUlt:
Word 2007 *7
Explorer * 7 (different dates/times)
Outlook 2007 * 4, and
Windows "Shut down unexpectedly" * 3
plus a few others.
"No solution known" against reports submitted.
Office install repaired
SFC/CBS shows clean
Sys restore done.
Looks like Vista is the common factor where some update has been a big
problem.
Ideas and help appreciated.

Hardware error?
Faulty memory?
Malware?
Software conflict?

As you've got no real specifics, it's difficult to state exactly what may be
wrong. I can only provide some general ideas of what else to look at.

Have a look in your error logs or take a screen shot to give us an idea
what we are coming up againts. It may be a hardware fault not
everything is down to software.

Rick/
No hardware errors in Device Mgr - no hardware ever added since purchase
(Mar 07).
Ran Win Mem Diagnostics - clear. Disk mgt reports healthy.
AVG antivirus always on & up-to-date -no errors and Win Defender clear.

Roy/
Recent Win logs apart from this original post:
App: occasional "warning" SQL browser TCP protocol in the SQL inst MSSMLBIZ
is not valid. A few "warning" registry in use by ano app.
Security: one fail image hash invalid for \\sys32\drivers\PMEMNT.SYS.
Several firewall couldn't notify usr blocked incoming connection.
Setup: OK
Sys: Interbase 2007 guardian gds_db service terminated unexpectedly &
timeout looks like on every restart. Occasional Net.Msmq service msmq may not
be installed.
Fwd events: no data (empty).

Re. scrnshot: prob is that computer runs very slow and then falls over so a
shot is not practical.
Thanks for responses. Andrew

In case anyone looks at the old stuff:
- Seems to be better after applying KB943899
- Possible correlation with Vista 'Chess Titans' and I'm wondering if that
process has a big memory leak.
