Hi all,

Hope some of you will be able to help me on this.

Last night I had 3 windows updates waiting for install on my WindowsXP SP1
PC, so I click on the small icon on the task bar to install them.

One of them is the most recent security update and another one is Microsoft
GDI+ Detection Tool and the third one I can't remember.

Anyway, after installation finished, it prompt me to restart my system, so I
quit all other programes and then restart my PC manually.

After the POST screen I then got nothing on screen, only a underscore
flaashing on the top left hand corner of my screen. I switch off the power
and on again, still got nothing.

Please help to resolve this as I have work that I haven't backup yet.

Many thanks in advanced!

Try to press several times F8 during starting. You'll maybe see a menu with
the possibility of choice a starting without error.
Good luck

I have the same problem. Have just tried to update and when rebooting, I get
a mesage that tells me to run set up. I go to F2 but how do I run set up and
start my computer?

Hi Sissy,
I have never had this problem but I can try to help you with this suggestion :
Can you exit setup without change and start Windows ?
If you can't, try exit with save changes (without changing) and start Windows.
If Windows doesn't start after setup exit, try to press F8 to have a menu
with starting without error our come back to the last good configuration
(before SP2).
(sorry for my english mistakes)
