Systems sound problems

Hi,

I am having problems with changing system sounds and hearing them. the
windows vista sound plays on start up but I can't seem to get any others
working. Testing them doest work either (no sound plays) p.s I get no error
messages. would be glad for anyone to give me a tip.

Have you checked to make sure all of your devices are working properly
Have you checked to make sure you have all of the drivers necessary t
run your hardware
Have you checked to make sure that the external hardware is connecte
properly

And make sure it's not turned down too low. If none of this applies
check your external speakers to make sure that your volume isn't turne
off or turned down to where you can't hear sound. Make sure that yo
don't have headphones connected to your speakers
