Still don't know what you're getting at. Even in Windows XP, the TAB key
cycles you through the contents of the directory you're in. I that the
function you're referring to? And it's not there in Vista?

I take it you mean the function that would cycle through
folders names that were below the current folder open?
It still works fine here.
Of course it also only shows the names and does not actually do anything
once
you hit enter just like it did nothing in Win XP also.

I think - but am not sure because of the very poor quality of the original
post - that the OP is asking how to make the tab key do autocompletion at
the command line. I honestly don't know if Vista's command prompt does
autocompletion (it does in *nix OSes and OS X).

The OP should use his/her Mad Skilz and search on Google for something like
"autocomplete Vista command prompt" or rephrase his/her question and supply
more information so people don't have to guess what s/he really wants.

Cheers,

Malke

Saying you cycle through the DIR would be most accurate. Is it not working
for you?

Sorry, of course it isn't.

Does the TAB key work as expected in a text file? To tab through apps and
websites? If not, your keyboard is either broken or has been reprogrammed.
