Tab feature in IE8

I just updated to IE8 and am using XP SP3. The new Tabs feature is driving
me nuts because it won't let me separate consecutive screens; it puts
everything in tabs and only lets you look at one screen at a time. Here's my
problem:

In IE7, if I have a series of thumbnail photos and I select one of them, I
can move that resulting large image to my other monitor and stll see the
thumbnail photos on the first monitor, which is what I wnat to be able to do.

But in IE8, instead of ADDING a screen, it REPLACES THE SCREEN, and just
adds a tab, so I can only look at one image at a time.

Is there a way to do away with the tab feature, or is there a way to set it
so it will make another image that I can move to my other monitor and still
retain the original image showing? If not, I'm going back to IE7!

Internet Options -> General tab -> Tabs -> Settings

Decide for yourself how you want clicking on links to work.

Learn how to use your shortcuts. E.g. depending on how your thumbnail
links are coded it could be as simple as pressing Shift- when you click on them.
Otherwise just press Ctrl-N to clone the current tab in a new window.
You would have to press Back on the first window. Again, depending on how
your thumbnail links are coded you might have to do that for each thumbnail
or only have to do it once or you could try dragging a link to the second window.
Etc.

Post an example link to a publicly accessible page and any necessary instructions
on how you want to use it if you need more help.
