Task/calender items with notes won't sync

I can't find any posts on this subject. I hope someone can help.

I'm trying to sync two PCs to my Toshiba e310 (old, but I love it)

desktop: WinXP, Outlook 2003/Exchange, Activesync 3.7.1

laptop: Win2k (SP4), Outlook 2003(can't find Exchange), Activesync
3.7.1

I can get most items to sync on the desktop, unresolved items appear
to be completely blank. I'll worry about those later.

On the laptop, I find any calendar item or task that has any text in
its notes section will not sync. If I create new items without any
notes they transfer either way easily. If I watch the Outlook task
list while trying to sync, each item appears, but the ones with notes
only stay for a few seconds and then disappear. I think similar
things happen in Calendar, but with >1200 items showing, I experiment
with the tasks.

Hi,
You are creating a circular problem. The Pocket PC was designed to be the
ONLY bridge in synchronizing between your two PCs. By synchronzing each PC
with Exchange, this can cause problems.

Thanks for responding.

My mistake, my request was not clear. I'm not connecting the PCs, my
PPC is the only link. When starting Outlook, my desktop has a notice
pop up showing something about Microsoft Exchange, while my laptop
does not. I thought a resident program on the PC called Exchange acts
as the "central storage" for calendar/contact/task data.

My problem remains. Calendar and task items with notes will not
transfer between the laptop and PPC, but they do on the desktop. (not
to be confused with the Notes selection on Activesync, that works)

I was hoping someone would say there is a switch in Outlook that
accepts/rejects one or more fields of data....or Win2K is a problem...
or my laptop is the wrong colour...?

I'm so confused!!
