I agree with David. I just recently added a logon password to my system
since strangers might be about while the system is on but asleep and doing
tasks daily. The addition of the password has been a real pain and it was
finally just today that I had the opportunity to figure out what is going on!
When the system is rebooted, say for upgrades??? the password setting for
scheduled tasks is lost, they will not run on time or on demand until the
password is re-entered. This part of Vista is broken, really. When I
reboot and logon the scheduled tasks should run with no further intervention
on my part! When I reboot and am logged off the scheduled tasks should run
on time since "Run whether the user is logged on or not, is checked".
Perhaps there is some reasoning here that escapes me??
