Taskbar flashes

Vista Ultimate here. I have my taskbar set to auto hide. As of recently, it
has started "flashing", that is quickly appearing/disappearing at irregular
frequencies. It does so a couple of times and is then quiet for a while,
until the next fit :-)

Anyone knows why is this?

My task bar flashes quite abit also. Think it started with the last update.

I suggest you look to see what you put in that task bar. If you added
something new remove it and see if the flashing stops. You can alters
setting in the task bar by right clicking in the bar and choosing
Properties. Click the advance button for a complete list.

I have the same problem, spent 4 hours with an HP tech to no avail, machine
is 3 days old and has no added items than standard.

I had the problem too, and stopped it by opening Task Manager and disabling a
small resident program that was triggering it. It's name is "PCM Media
Sharing". It's part of the media stuff on my new Acer. Don't know if you
have it, but I'm convinced that whenever the taskbar problem occurs on any
Vista computer, it's because of some little resident program like that.
