Taskbar Resizes Itself After Reboot

If I make my taskbar double height and then reboot, it returns to the default
single height every time. It makes no difference if the taskbar is locked or
unlocked when I reboot. I have no special toolbars enabled, just Quick
Launch. I'm not on a corporate network, so there are no GPOs in effect.

I'm using Windows Vista Business 32-bit.

Any ideas would be appreciated?

I just found your post while looking for a solution to the same
problem. I found the solution on another board - if you change your
active title bar size to a number lower than the default of 19 the task
bar will resize itself on boot.

I have the same problem with Vista Home Premium, and it's driving me nuts. I
hope you get some some help with this issue and pass it along.

Sobershea, I found the following link (copy and paste) that describes a fix
to the problem, howbeit a little complicated. I haven't tried it yet, but it
may be the answer. Paul

I agree that it is complicated. In my case the only problem was th
task bar resizing on boot and I found the answer was simple. I ha
changed the Active Title Bar Size to a size less than 19 (Control Panel
Appearance and Personalization, Personalization, Window Color an
Appearance, select link to "open classic appearance properties for mor
color options", select the Advanced button, select Active Title Ba
under "Item"). Doing this caused the task bar to reset itself from th
wide version I prefer to the single line default version. Thanks for th
info though. I bookmarked the page in case I ever get fed up wit
Vista's handling of folder views
