After reinstalling Vista, I noticed that the taskbar icons were no longer
displayed as large icons. I believe there used to be an option available to
display large icons. I haven't been able to figure out how to make the
icons and buttons on the taskbar larger.

FYI, I am running Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 2, with all Microsoft
updates applied.

Thing is, nobody around here cares about Linux.

Good analogy. When I go home I will check to see how many phillips head and
flat head screw drivers I have in the garage.

The taskbar icons definitely can be changed irrespective of screen
resolution. I came across the option to do it several months ago, but
unfortunately, after reinstalling Vista, the option is not available.

I believe it was part of Service Pack 2. I just can't find the option to do
it any longer.

Problem solved (by sheer accident!)

Right-clicking on the taskbar is very specific. If one right-clicks in the
Quick Launch area, the View | Large/Small icons option is displayed. I was
clicking in the part of the taskbar that displays the applications buttons
(the area between Quick Launch and System Notifications) which does not
display the View options. Grrrrr :<|

I thought you were telling a fib, until I thought to unlock the Taskbar.
Not until then did I see the View option :-)

Thanks for the tip! Now my Taskbar icons look quite similar to the
Windows 7 Taskbar icons in terms of size!

Thanks again!

Yes, but this only affects the quick launch icons, is there a way to enlarge
the notification area icons?
