Many thanks,

Peter.

What to you mean? Do you want to open a port on the Vista firewall? Is that
what you are talking about?

Mr Arnold.

I have no idea if I want to open a port on the Vista firewall (or not). I
want to access a printer wirelessly over a small network. The advice I found
on a Linksys forum was to "just open a TCP port for the print server IP
address on the Vista computer..." Unfortunately this referred to WinXP but I
thought I would give it a try.

I have since discovered that my HP LaserJet 1012 is incompatible with Vista
and HP have not provided a driver for 1012/Vista.
