Hello,

we've got multiple new WM5 Phones in our company all having serious problems
with the actviesync 4.1 Software.

1st Problem is that almost everytime the phone is connected to the computer,
it recognizes it as a new HW device, which gives us a new virtual network
connection, which leads us to the

2nd Problem is the main problem - whenever there's a new connection on the
Windows XP Host - it's created without the Bindings for TCP/IP.

We're running a "Checkpoint VPN-1" Software which is not interferring with
that (uninstalled and double-checked).

We have a Windows XP SP1 environment with Office 2003 SP1, Exchange Server
2003 and our Phone is a "Vodafone VPA compact II" which seems to be similar
to the "HTC Wizard 100".

Any help is appreciated,

TIA

The Checkpoint VPN-1 software is known to cause problems with ActiveSync as
it unchecks the TCP/IP bindings on the RNDIS adapter. Have you tried the AS
4.2 Beta? There is a fix in this release targeted specifically at this
scenario.

actually no, but since it's beta i don't wanna give it to my users to use it.
is there maybe a hotfix for AS 4.1 ?

One major thing i think is strange is that the device is recognized as a NEW
device everytime it's connected. Therefor new RNDIS Connection.

Thanks,
