Had these two ethernet adaptors:

Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC
Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC #2

For:
Internet Connection.
Home LAN (no longer used, disconnected).

Windows update advised that "custom optional update" available for my Hp PC.

Driver update for "TE100-PCBUSR 32-Bit Cardbus PC Card"

So I installed it, now have:

Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC
TE100-PCBUSR 32-Bit Cardbus PC Card

Does anyone know if I really needed to install TE100...?

How come update didn't replace both realtek drivers?

How do the general public, with only limited PC knowledge know which
"optional" updates to install, is it if in doubt don't?

I just install them all, good idea or not?
