Dear MS,
You have blown enough smoke up my arse about this OS for the past year to make Chernobyl look like a peace pipe.
I am sick of the bugs, the crashes, and your RC1 Service Pack was even a bigger insult.
I want this Ultimate POS OS replaced with Media Center 2005.
I'm ready to jump on every band wagon civil suit known to the web right now.
I'm sick of it, sick of it, sick of it (Allow or Deny)
I'm sick of it, sick of it, sick of it (Allow or Deny)
I'm sick of it, sick of it, sick of it (Allow or Deny)
I'm sick of it, sick of it, sick of it (Allow or Deny)
I'm sick of it, sick of it, sick of it (Internet Explorer Cannot Continue)
I'm sick of it, sick of it, sick of it (Internet Explorer Cannot Continue)
I'm sick of it, sick of it, sick of it (Internet Explorer Cannot Continue)
I'm sick of it, sick of it, sick of it (Internet Explorer Cannot Continue)
I reset this POS twice in 2 weeks
I'm sick of it, sick of it, sick of it (Internet Explorer Cannot Continue)
I'm sick of it, sick of it, sick of it (Internet Explorer Cannot Continue)
I'm sick of it, sick of it, sick of it (Internet Explorer Cannot Continue)
I'm sick of it, sick of it, sick of it (Internet Explorer Cannot Continue)

I've had reactivations up the wazoo for the same box.
I tried the service pack and there was nothing worth the bandwidth to even go through.
Sure it's a beta, fine.
I have to re-install and talk to the 7/11 slurpee guy again for sure since the license key I got with the disk was invalidated by a bad Motherboard the first week I had it.
I'm twitching even considering adding the other hardware I got to add to my system for SLI.
And my IE7 started crashing again when I browse after resetting 2 weeks ago.
I don't do anything wrong but this OS continuously punishes and insults me.
It sux.
Of course I'm ****ed.
How many times do I have to wet nurse this thing to do what basically has not failed for the last 3 years for me?
Let alone I paid more for this OS than any other in my life?
What, your going to tell me I'm doing something wrong after servicing and fixing messed up personal and work systems for the last 12 years of my life?
This system is a really bad implementation.
I was one of the IT guys that actually bit the bullet and tried it.
Everyone's laughing at me for considering it.

If you purchased OEM, your replacement/refund possibilities are with
the seller.
If retail and you purchased in North America within 45 days, contact
Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/prod...nd/refund.mspx
Otherwise you may need to look for a different solution.

Also, you are aware there is no expectation or requirement that anyone
from Microsoft see any post on these peer to peer newsgroups?
Occasionally Microsoft employees post here, but then they are doing so
on their own time.

As regards the crashing, what are the specific fault bucket numbers for
those crashes according to the Problem Reports and Solutions center:
http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html#bucket
?

Wow Chris. Nothing wrong with blowing off some steam.

If you want to make it work, you can. Briefly looking at some of your other
posts I say you may have bad (or incompatible) hardware and definitly bad
software. For example, a Flash update was released near the beginning of
December that resolved a lot of IE crashes.

Here's what I would recommend.

1) Check your hardware to make sure it is compatible with Vista (with
current bios, etc.)
2) Back up your system and make sure the backup is good
3) Wipe your system drive clean
4) Set all hardware to default settings (no overclock)
5) Install Vista from scratch using Microsoft media
6) Don't change any default settings or install any software (other than NIC
drivers if you need them)
7) Update from Windows Update

If your system is stable, begin to add your software/settings using a method
that will allow you to determine what causes your system to tank, i.e., one
at a time and validate. If your system is unstable starting with step 5, I
would guess your hardware is the issue.

Again, don't put PC Tools or anything else on until you validated the system
is stable. You will have to decide if your firewall/router/whatever is good
enough to protect you while updating from Windows Update. If it isn't, then
put some anti-virus on there before updating. However, that could introduce
issues that at first glance would seem to be Vista.

Good luck and post back with the results.

Quite honestly the problem is most unlikely to be with Vista.

I'll bet you're running incompatible software, incompatible drivers, or
incompatible hardware.

My machine has been running Vista continuously for a year (rebooted only
when patches require it) and it's been rock solid.

I think you need to take a deep breath or two, calm down, and take a proper
look at your system. Trust me, there is something wrong with it.

Try common sense and aptitude. Works 100% of the time
Blaming your problems on someone/thing else fails 100% of time

... in case you haven't realized this yet
