How to tell if SP1 installed successfully?

Hello!

This may be a silly question, but how does one go about verifying if SBS
2003 SP1 installed properly?

I used this site
http://www.smallbizserver.net/Defaul...D=53&tabid=236 as a
guide and I received no errors during installation. Everything **appears**
to be working properly, other than Event ID 1035 errors that may be related
to MTU settings (just changed per
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;159211).

Thanks for your post.

From your description, I understand that you would like to check if the SBS
SP1 is well installed. If I'm off base, please let me know.

As for this, you can check the following aspects:

1. Right click on "My computer" and select properties, check if the system
is already SP1.

2. Check if there is any installation related error logged in the event log.

3. Check the log files under C:\Program Files\Microsoft Integration\Windows
Small Business Server 2003\Logs, to see if there is any error.

4. If you have SQL installed, the log file for SQL 2000 SP4 is
C:\Windows\sqlsp.log. If you have ISA installed, you can check the log file
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business
Server\Support\sbsisa2k4setuplog.txt

If there is no error in those log files, you can sure that the SBS 2003 SP1
has been installed properly.l

There were no errors during the installation and no errors in Event Viewer
logs, but the "errorlog.txt" file under that folder is full of what appear
to be errors.

The word "failed" shows up so many times that it looks as though the server
should have vaporized, but everything appears to be working fine. I am so
confused!

Thanks for your update.

Actually, it is normal behavior that the errorlog.txt records some action
failure during the setup. That is since some steps in the installation can
not be performed during the installation. However, that will not affect the
whole installing process.

So, if your server works well and no error occurs, you can just ignore
those failures. But if the setup fails or error occurs after the
installation, we can analyze those logs fro troubleshooting.
