What's with this?

// flashes shell open and then closes from Start > Run
c:\windows\system32\telnet.exe o countycat.mcfls.org

// shortcut loads telnet but does not accept the
// parameter or load the target and have the shortcut
// configured to run as administrator
c:\windows\system32\telnet.exe o countycat.mcfls.org

If I use the shortcut to load telnet and type
o countycat.mcfls.org telnet will make the connection.
Why isn't the o parameter and its argument functioning?

Yup. So it does thanks for helping out --but-- it still won't connect when
using the shortcut with or without the parameter; the shell launches and
leaves me looking at the telnet prompt.

Using Vista, I right-clicked the Desktop and chose "create shortcut."
Into the box that appeared I typed "telnet countycat.mcfls.org" (no
quotes) <enter>
The shortcut was named "Telnet.exe" which I changed to TEST.

I double-clicked the shortcut, and the site opened in a Telnet window.

Yea, I tried that and it worked fine. I was using a shortcut I made on
telnet.exe itself. Odd isn't it but thanks for reminding me to try it as you
suggested.
