temp. internet files not saving websites that have been gone to

When checking temporary internet files it doesn't seem to be saving the
websites that have been visited. I like to check the websites that my
son has been to just to make sure he isn't getting into any trouble on
internet.
For instance someone could be on computer all day and there will be
only one item listed, it isn't showing for instance our email address or
any websites that have been visited. It only displays files and
documents. Hope this makes sense.
It is not set to automatically delete.
Someone mentioned to me to make sure ,"hide files" is not checked but I
can't find that in advanced options where else would that be
Hopefully someone can help me figure this out. I have tried restoring
advanced settings this hasn't helped

If you are using Vista64bit. Go to any website. Click on the first star
in the address bar (top of screen) Click on history. It should sho
everything visited

Let us know how you make out. Hope I have helped. If not, this is

Open IE7.
On the left-hand top, under "file", there is a yellow star.
Click on that, and you have the choice then to look at Favourites, Feeds, or
History.

Click on History= Websites visited.
Where it says "today", etc, just click on it.

If you are using IE7, go to view in the menu and select explorer bar >
history. You'll see exactly where your son has been and when he's been
there.

I have Vista Home Premium 32 bit. My history is there when goin
through the star (favorites) then history. I am referring to goin
through tools, internet options, browsing history, settings, view files
This is where the websites visited is not being saved. On our other P
everything was also stored there. Example, if you had opened your mail
your address was there with time, date, last checked, last accessed
etc. If you went to a another website it would also be there with time
date, etc. visited along with address of that website. Can't figure ou
why it isn't there?
