I have a month long BSOD, and have followed the instructions of member
of this board in addressing it. The actions I have taken includ
performing a clean installation with the factory discs, running memtes
(negative results), running every software and hardware diagnostic on m
computer, replacing my RAM anyways, updating every driver I own as wel
as my BIOS, both from the HP website and then with Driver Detective. Th
messages I get on the BSOD vary, the two I can think of off the top o
my head are IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and PAGE_FAULT_IN_A_NONPAGED_AREA o
something to that effect. They occur with no rhyme or reason I ca
discern. They can occur when the computer is completely at rest or whe
I am actively using it. I use AVG Free but have tried uninstalling it t
no avail. I use spysweeper and spybot and I am clean according to them
This is a reasonably expensive computer (for a poor student like myself
and I am at the point of just throwing it out because nobody seems t
know what is going on and I can't use it when it shuts down on me s
frequently. If there is any pertinent information that you think coul
be useful that I am omitting, please tell me and I will reply promptly
Thank you for reading, I just don't know what to do anymore

Have you been asked to upload the dump files? they are usually
locatedin c:\windows\minidump, and if not they have the *.dmp extension.

Thanks for the reply zigzag. If you scroll down a couple of posts, yo
will see I was asking about that very subject earlier today. I have m
most recent minidump file ready to post, I just can't post it her
because of its format. If anyone here is willing to view it, I would b
glad to upload it to whatever site you request. Thank you for you

I can't debug memory dumps right now (system is down), but here's
tutorial on how to generate the reports for us to look at. Just follo
it step by step and you'll be able to post the report for us to have
look at

The crash dumps don't say much.

Try typing Verifier in Start - Run and see if it catches the error with more
meaningful information.

I typed Verifier in run but all it did was tell me that I didn't have
any unsigned drivers. What exactly am I supposed to do once the driver
verifier manager is up?

I also installed SIsoftware as was suggested, but am unsure of how to
use it to check my hardware for problems. Is anyone aware of any guides
for stupid people like me on how to use it as a diagnostic tool for
everything I can use it for?
