Given the replies from PA Bear and another MVP, I felt compelled to clarify
the conditions surrounding the WindowsUpdate Log file errors that I am
receiving without visiting the Microsoft Windows Update Website.

Accordingly, I conducted the following TESTS, including the CONDITIONS
associated with each test, and the recorded (apparent) FATAL error(s) that
appear in my WindowsUpdate.log file as follows . . .

TEST #1 CONDITIONS
Windows Services . . .
- Automatic Updates, Disabled (stopped)
- Background Intelligent Transfer Service, Disabled (stopped)

'Event Viewer' log, 'Application' and 'System' directories - no warnings or
errors (and prior to rebooting, both are cleared)

'System Properties' under 'Automatic Updates' . . .
- 'Turn off Automatic Updates' selected, then clearing the log and
rebooting, WindowsUpdate.log file records the following . . .

Does ANYONE know how to correct or eliminate the (apparent) errors from
happening - as recorded in the WindowsUpdate.log file?

Harry.
