I could not get my Windows UPdate to work. No updates would download
automatically. All of them had Instalatoin Failure Cose 0x80246008. I could
download most of them manually, however this of course is a pain.

I could not always get my "express" or custom" buttons to anything
(javascript:return false. Of course, that is when Update woud do anything
at all.

I was reading through these threads and found two useful ones. Both yours.
They were

This error may occur if one or more of the following services are disabled or
unavailable. Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) Event Log

Try registering the following:

Click Start, select Run and type (pressing enter after each one and wait for
the
success message):

Repeat for the following:
regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll
regsvr32 wuweb.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 msxml3.dll
regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 atl.dll

I followed the directions in the article and these registries and ... well I
am almost done installing the updates thatWindows updates finally showed me.
I don't know what I would have done to fix this. Thank you TaurArian!!!
